It is Monday…

It is Monday again, how quickly the weekend went. Didn’t get to sew anything this past weekend. Had a family reunion to attend in Missouri, so most of my weekend was taken up on the road. I would have rather been sewing.

My messenger bag has stressed me to no end. I have decided that perhaps it is time to set it aside and start on something else. So off it goes to join my two other projects that frustrated me, awaiting my return. For now I feel a little guilty but I will get over it..Image

I am excited to be participating in a pattern and notion swap hosted by The Sew Weekly Reunion.  The premise is to swap with others across the world. My swap partner’s name is Amy and her blog is Books and Bobbins. My package is all packed and ready to go! I just need to add a short note in the morning and get to the post office. I hope that she likes what I have selected. It is a wonderful idea and I am anticipating my package.  On August 1 they will announce a themed sewing challenge. We will have til September 1 to complete. Sounds like fun and I seem to work better under pressure of a time limit.

Monday also brought an email in my box from Jill at The Sewing District. I have won the latest Scavenger Hunt! Yeah. This is the blog hosted by Sew News and is a small site now but I look forward to the upgrades.

I have decided on the next sewing project. My oldest daughter says it is her turn for the next dress. She wants a maxi dress and has chosen Simplicity 1612, version C. It has an interesting back detail with a crossed bodice. I have begun the first mock up and should have it fitted and ready to sew by Wednesday. I have a couple of knit fabrics from my stash and haven’t decided which one to use but I am leaning towards the blue/green design. Image
