It is a quiet Saturday morning, the house is free of all distractions, even the cats have gone off to take one of their cat naps. I have plans on catching up on my correspondence, work on my Fall for Cotton Vintage project and check out all the blogs on my list.
Over at Sew Mama Sew I came across a post talking about favorite sewing tools. I recently purchased a magnetic seam guide for my sewing machine. I am terrible at sewing a straight line and this little gems works wonders, enabling me to easily stay in line. Guess at this point I have to admit that I couldn’t color in between the lines as a child either. If you are like me and want a better looking seam give this tool a try. It is inexpensive and works great. But be careful, it doesn’t say on the package but I am not sure if this is good for a fully computerized machine, check out your machine’s booklet before using it.
I checked my email this morning and a wonderful surprise awaited. I have been selected as a featured member on Pattern Review for the day! Yeah for me. I have been a member since July 2008 and always visit this site, there are great pattern reviews from members, there are contests to participate and even classified. In fact I purchased a used serger from one of the members. If you have never checked them out hurry on over and do so. You will not regret is and perhaps one day you too will be a featured member.
I have never seen a magnetic sewing guide, but it makes perfect sense. Sometimes that would come in quite handy. I might have to keep my eyes out for one of those.
I just recently signed up for Pattern Review, and I’m looking forward to using it more often–it seems like a great resource! Congrats on your feature!
And that sewing guide sounds awesome! I’ve learned not to watch the needle, which has helped my lines straighten out, but some extra help might be cool! 😉
Congrats on being the Pattern Review featured member of the day! And, I can’t wait to see what everyone makes in the Fall for Cotton challenge. So many people are participating!!
I didn’t know that tool. It looks simply great!
Congratulations on being the Pattern Review featured member! 🙂
