My confession: It has been 30 days since I have blogged. .. And as I sit in front of my computer I ask myself why? Could it be laziness, great possibility..Could it be an addiction to stupid Facebook games, I sure have wasted a lot of productive time farming virtual crops, feeding virtual animals, searching for clues to virtual murder mysteries. The endless local online actions houses have loved me, I have bought so much stuff they know me by name when I walk in to pick up my boxes of junk. I haven’t walked into a fabric store in four weeks, I haven’t even looked at one of the blogs that I normally follow and read daily. Could it be lack of sewing mojo.. another great possibility, I have not sewn anything, Is it a touch of clinical depression? Probably a great combination of all of the above or none of the above.
Now I sit here thinking of all the wonderful creations that you have each made, all the sewing patterns that have been designed and produced, all the wonderful advice and encouragement that I have missed and it makes me sad. How many challenges have I let slip by me, missing the wonderful opportunities of sharing the love of creativity.
First I have to thank Laurie from Sew Exhausted for the wonderful package that I received in the mail. Please forgive my rudeness for the late “THANKS”. It was such a wonderful surprise and certainly helped to raise my spirits.
Among my endless boxes of junk I bought I did get a great sleeve ironing board. And the lace that I managed to acquired for cheap is beautiful.
I have managed to lay out most of the shirt pattern on the plaid flannel that needs to be completed. I have committed myself to Diane’s facebook group, Stitch Once, Rip Twice. If you are on Facebook make sure you look her up and join her group. She also have a blog, Vintage Zest. It is always informative, it is a great read.
I will begin to catch up, get going and get back on track. I look forward to seeing what everyone has been up too! I have missed my community of friends and colleagues.
I am very glad to have you back!! I was actually wondering what happened to you… 😉
I hope your back is fully recovered. It seems you also had a blog hiatus. It happens to all of us from time to time. I’m very happy to see you back and really looking forward to seeing your future projects.
Welcome back! I think I relate totally to what you speak of. Sometimes it’s a system of constraints- stuff we have to do or even cannot do that pushes our creativity and our productivity more than having unlimited time and ideas. I hope most of all that you feel better and less in a funk, regardless of whether we get to read more blogging from you or not!
Hope you get your sewjo back soon!
Good to have you back; looking forward to seeing what you make next!
If the mojo isnt there – dont stress. Everything happens in waves. You will jump in when you are in the right head space! And it looks like you had some aeesome finds too.
