The last few days have been consumed with creating yet another garden Flag. I love embroidering on burlap! It is so easy, it weathers well in the outside elements, and there are several ways to finish the hems.
I belong to a Facebook group called Resources for Free Machine Embroidery Designs, Sales, Tutorials, Networking. If you are interested in learning, looking for tutorials, free machine embroidery designs then make sure you join. We recently had a Halloween/Autumn Garden Flag Swap. It is great fun, who doesn’t love a package in the mail! If you would like a sneak peek (Official viewing isn’t until October 30 8:00 pm EST ) at all the flags that were swapped you can view it HERE! Just no telling! 😉
Watch for upcoming details for the upcoming Winter/Christmas Swap and think about joining in. It is open to all levels, whether you are a beginner or an expert.
My current machine (Brother LB6800PRW/SE400) only does a 4×4 design and that is not always large enough but I have found a great new hoop called a re-positional hoop that allows me to create a larger design (4 x 6 3/4).
I have paired with some great software called SewWhat Pro which allows me to split a larger design and stitch it using my re-positional hoop.
By the way if you are interested in learning how to use SewWhat Pro and the re-positional hoop check out my favorite instructional video on YouTube, it is easy to use
Here is my completed flag!
May your needles always be sharp,
Your bobbins always be full
And your stitches always be straight.
